Engine for Good

We work side-by-side with local donors and nonprofits to tackle the most important challenges our Valley faces.

About Us

Founded in 1994, Napa Valley Community Foundation works side-by-side with local donors and nonprofits to tackle the most important challenges our Valley faces.

We believe that a prosperous community rises from a strong foundation. Every day we gather generous hearts and bright minds to solve the problems that lie beneath the surface of this beautiful place we call home.

Our Vision

A thriving, inclusive, equitable Napa Valley where collective generosity propels community-wide prosperity, resilience, and wellbeing.

Our Mission

We mobilize resources, inspire giving, build knowledge and provide leadership on vital community issues to improve the quality of life for all in Napa County.

Every day, we gather generous hearts and bright minds to solve the problems that lie beneath the surface of this beautiful place we call home.

Our Programs

At Napa Valley Community Foundation, we believe

Volunteers and applicants work to fill in U.S. citizenship applications at a citizenship workshop hosted at Congregation Beth Shalom, in Napa, Calif. The workshops are a core part of the One Napa Valley Initiative launched by Napa Valley Community Foundation in 2013. The Initiative includes four nonprofit partner agencies who collaborate to host monthly citizenship workshops, and offer U.S. History and Civics classes to residents who are eligible for U.S. citizenship.

Champion Community

We believe that our community and our democracy are more vibrant when everyone participates in the decisions we make about our future.

Fight Poverty

We believe that our Valley is only as strong as its most vulnerable residents. Unfortunately, significant barriers—like the high cost of housing—stand in the way of local families’ ability to thrive.

Invest in Youth

We believe that all young people have the potential to become confident and contributing adults. However, while gifts and talents are evenly distributed, access and opportunities are not.

Meet the Moment

We believe that disasters don’t discriminate, but recovery does.
